Some of the best pistachio gelato I've had! Friend really loves the vegan one. Like the variety of flavors, they all taste very fresh. Sometimes there's a line but moves quickly.

The gelato here is absolutely amazing--so delicious with tons of flavors to choose from! We stopped by one Thursday night, and even though a big birthday party came in right at closing, Evan went out of his way to keep the place open and make sure everyone was served. He was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. This is hands down the best gelato spot in the Marina and definitely worth a visit!

GIO Gelati consistently delivers the vibes, flavors, and the happiness every time i've visited (which are many! i'm a huge fan). particularly, if you're a fan of fruit sorbet flavors, you'll LOVE this spot. i've found other gelato shops to be too sweet, taste inauthentic, not taste like the fruit - but GIO sorbet tastes as if you were taking a bite from the juiciest, non-GMO pears freshly cultivated from the caucasus regions. their matcha flavor is surprisingly delightful as well - not too sweet, and although a lighter shade of green than other matcha-specialty shops, is very comparable in the authentic matcha taste. service is quick and friendly. and inside seating to relax and enjoy your sweet treat afterward (with lemon-infused water)! come here if you want to experience true sorbet happiness!

Super cute! Flavor selection was good...basics. Not so creative. Went with the coconut flavor which was good. Fun spot gets busy quick.

Vegan pistachio gelato is very very good. Favorite flavor and difficult to find vegan! They also have other vegan sorbet type options (kiwi and pear were good) and vegan gelato options (almond choc etc). Highly recommend for the good vegan options!!

EN: i popped in here for my morning caffeine and wound up pleasantly surprised to find the familiar sight of a classic italian coffee shop and gelateria. the flavors are authentic and made with fresh ingredients (with many vegan options), and the staff are incredibly friendly (and all speak italian, as well!). they also have a cute selection of imported italian goods near the seating area. IT: ci sono andata per un caffè una mattina e così ho trovato una gelateria autentica qua a san francisco! i gelati sono buoni e fatti con ingredienti freschi (con tante opzioni vegane) e la gente è simpaticissima (tutti parlano italiano)! inoltre hanno cibo italiano importato (come la pasta monograno felicetti e tantissimi tipi di panettone).

Gelato was great and hit the spot on a hot day like today. Even better was the young man working with a smile on his face. He was as sweet as my gelato - super friendly with great customer service.

This is the best ice cream/gelato I've ever had. That needs to be stated first, so if you read nothing else, you can read that. They have a wide selection of vegan flavors, which is convenient being right across the street from a fantastic vegan restaurant. The vegan flavors were incredibly creamy and flavorful, which is seemingly hard to do. Most fruit flavors are icy or chalky even, so for the vegan flavors to be creamier than most regular ice creams I've had in the past I was blown away. They also have a vast range of non vegan flavors. Among them, milk and fig is an absolute must. We ended up going with a scoop of vegan strawberry in one cup, and a scoop of milk and fig in another. It was a delicious combo that worked well with the freshness. My boyfriend even stated "I don't even know if Italy could top that". So needless to say, if you're in the area, you have to check it out! We found out they have a San Ramon location and hope to try them out soon.

Best decision I made was passing on dessert at Wildseed and venturing right next door to Gio. The moment I sampled the black sesame gelato, I knew I'd found my ice cream soulmate. It was lusciously creamy, nutty, with a slight saltiness that was just perfect. $6 for a kids cup isn't cheap but they pack it full, and since gelato has less air than ice cream, it's worth it.

Wow. This spot has really exceeded my expectations. The fact that I almost didn't come because I was super full from dinner.. thank god I sucked it up and ended up going. There was a young gentleman running the whole shop from offering samples, serving, and running the cash register. He definitely deserves a lot of recognition. Despite how busy it was, he was super patient and friendly. We ended up choosing the passionfruit sorbet and the pistachio. Both really took me by surprise. It tasted exactly like what you would expect passionfruit and pistachio to taste like. Nothing artificial. The passionfruit was perfectly tart. You keep wanting more after every bite.
